National Association of Government Webmasters (NAGW)
St. Louis Park, Minn. – The National Association of Government Webmasters (NAGW) has awarded the City of St. Louis Park its top honors for municipalities with a population of 35,000 to 100,000 for the city’s website, www.stlouispark.org.
This is the second year in a row the city’s website has been awarded top honors, and the first time in this population category. St. Louis Park won last year in the 50,000 and below population category and this year was placed in an expanded category that included cities with populations up to 100,000.
“We’re competing against much larger cities in this class with much larger resources,” said City of St. Louis Park Communication Coordinator Jamie Zwilling. “Most of the websites we were competing against are produced out-of-house by large Website consulting firms with deeper pockets and much deeper resources in terms of employees.”
The 2009 Pinnacle Award recognized the content, organization, design, function, accessibility, standards, interactivity and team size responsible for the website. By keeping Web services in-house here in St. Louis Park, the city is not only able to effectively use resources, but we’re able to customize the site in ways that serve residents better.
